Connection, creativity and innovation became so very important throughout 2020. A lot of what we thought we knew was thrown to the wind. It was really important to me to write about what was in my heart. That in isolation we needed to find new ways to connect with each other and to our precious world around us.
I have always created and recorded music with strong feminine, environmental and spiritual themes. My next project has the same heart. I have begun the pre-recording process for this new body of work as I continue to work closely with my record label Riversong Music and Producer Scott Bird whose songs will also feature on this album.
I’m really excited to see these beautiful new songs taking shape. They have a bespoke, hand crafted edge to them, uniquely and unashamedly Australian following on from my current EP “The Eden Project”.
Ohh the name change?? In 2017 I signed to Riversong Music, a record label based on the west coast of Tasmania. On the music front I rebranded from Lissy Stanton to Melissa Black. This fresh approach to a new pseudonym has been a pretty exciting journey as a songwriter, musician and entertainer. “The Eden Project” EP was released gaining excellent radio coverage and reviews worldwide.
I would love to keep you updated on shows, upcoming projects, new recordings and releases.
I'm updating my email address list, as part of my recent rebranding, and I would love to invite you to join so I can let you know whats coming up in the music world for me.
My mailing list sign up can be found on my home page, on the right hand side beneath the drop down menu.
Best wishes!
Melissa xx
“Melissa Black radiates with love and shares that enthusiasm with her audience, for her work is impossible to ignore – and provides confirmation, if its needed, that her impact on the music world is very far from tiny.” XTTRAWAVE Music Review MELISSA|BLACK
